"In 1800, as part of an act of Congress providing for the removal of the new national government from Philadelphia to Washington, President John Adams approved an act of Congress providing $5,000 for books for the use of Congress—the beginning of the Library of Congress. A Joint Congressional Committee—the first joint committee—would furnish oversight. In 1802, President Thomas Jefferson approved a legislative compromise that made the job of Librarian of Congress a presidential appointment, giving the Library of Congress a unique relationship with the American Presidency. Jefferson named the first two Librarians of Congress, each of whom also served as the clerk of the House of Representatives."

Details: The event will start promptly at 10:15am, these are timed tickets and our time to begin is 10:15am. Please meet in front of the building no later than 10am.
A note from the President,
Friends, please be respectful of your fellow members. At some of our recent events we have had a limited number for registration slots and we have had wait lists in place for these events with people on them. However, on the day of the event, we are having members just not show up and there has been no communication which means we could not offer those spaces to people on the waitlist. We understand life happens, if you need to cancel, please do so no later that 24 hours in advance by contacting us. "No Shows" without any communication the day of the tour are simply Not Acceptable. Membership is open to ALL spouses of active duty, reserve, retired, U.S. Service members and Spouses of International Service members attached to U. S. Marine Corps units / schools.
Age Restrictions / Babes In Arms:
Please be aware that some events will have different policies and will be listed as such. Quantico Spouses' Social Club guest policy is age 18 or older, Children considered "Babes in Arms" are permitted i.e. infants.
