Meet Our 2026-2027 Elected Board

President
April McArthur

Hello QSSC! What an opportunity to serve this club!

A little bit about me. I am a Marine Corps spouse of 27 years. We have been stationed here in Quantico quite a few times but just recently returned in July. I love the life that military service has offered my family - the opportunities to meet so many wonderful people and experience new things and locations every few years. My husband and I have three daughters, two of which have flown the nest and one that attends high school. We all enjoy traveling, being outdoors and having adventures. I personally use my free time to quilt, read and volunteer for the PTSO. I am looking forward to building on the incredible foundation already set by all of the spouses that have taken on this role in the past.

Vice-President
Amanda Butucel

Hi, I’m Amanda! I’m a proud Navy wife of more than 20 years and an even prouder mom to a brand-new Appalachian State freshman. I’m also an avid national park loving, true-crime sleuth that enjoys seeking out the perfect cup of cold-brew while waiting patiently for a chance to watch some hockey; GO CAPS! For the past seven years, my family and I have called the DMV home, where I’ve found joy volunteering with base youth, this wonderful club, and most recently serving as a Navy command ombudsman.

This ever-evolving military lifestyle holds such a special place in my heart—it’s taught me the value of resilience, friendship, and lifting each other up. I’m so excited to bring those qualities and that spirit to QSSC this year as your Vice President.

Treasurer
Ashley Fontenot

Hi, I’m Ashley Fontenot. I’ve been married to my Marine for 7 years, but I’ve actually been part of the military community my entire life as a "military kiddo”.

Currently, I’m a stay-at-home mom to our spunky 2.5 year old, you can usually find us exploring a local park!

I know firsthand how much of a lifeline a solid community and a dedicated space for spouses can be. At our last duty station, I served as the treasurer for the spouses’ club board. It was such a joy to help grow the club and support our members. I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to do the same here at Quantico.

Secretary
Jessica Secor

Hello, I am Jessica Secor. I have been a Marine wife for more than 20 years. My husband and I met when we were both in ROTC at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. I have been volunteering since I became a Key Wife during my husband’s first deployment. I enjoy jumping into local groups at every duty station and have served on the board for K-Bay OSC, Fredericksburg Mothers of Multiples, and multiple MOPS groups. I joined QSSC when we moved back to the area in 2024; 2025-26 was my first year serving as QSSC Secretary.

I studied Occupational Therapy at VCU and worked as an OT until my twins were born in 2016. Since then, I have been a full-time mom to two active boys. We keep busy with sports, scouts and music lessons. We love to travel and spend time outside as a family. I am also an avid reader.

I have embraced the Marine Corps life and strive to make the most of every new experience. We tell our boys that every move is a new adventure.

Parliamentarian
Jennis Stewart

Hi everyone! I’m Jennis Stewart, and I’m so excited to be a candidate for your next Parliamentarian. I’m originally from sunny South Florida and a busy mom of three. As a military spouse I’ve found that the best part of military life is the community we build together and the friendships we make along the way.

At our last duty station, I remained involved with the base spouses club serving in a variety of roles for the three years before we were stationed in Quantico. I served on the Executive Board, was the Social Chair, part of the Scholarship Committee and also led various Sub Clubs.

While I loved the whirlwind of planning events and fundraising, that experience also taught me how important it is to have a solid, fair structure behind the scenes. As your Parliamentarian, I’m ready to keep our meetings running smoothly so the board can focus on what matters most: supporting each other and planning fun events to explore the DMV.

When I have some free time, you can usually find me exploring the area with my little ones or listening to an audiobook. I’d love the chance to serve on the board and get to know all of you better.
